The South Pennines landscape has long inspired and influenced artists, makers and photographers of all genres.  Internationally-renowned painter Ashley Jackson has been painting the moors of Yorkshire and Saddleworth for over 50 years.  You can view and buy his work at his gallery in Holmfirth, or online at www.ashley-jackson.co.uk.

Ashley is particularly keen that others are inspired to see the moors and natural landscape as he does and so, working in partnership with the National Trust, Huddersfield University and Walker Morris, he commissioned ‘Framing the Landscape’ , a series of  large frames installed at places for walkers, children and aspiring artists to view the landscape through.

Full details can be found at www.framingthelandscape.co.uk but here are a couple of images so that you ‘get the picture’!
